Concours Lux d’Infopresse + some student work

8th October 2012

This is completely unrelated, but I wanted to share a bit of my current life. Last week I won my first ever photography award at the Infopresse Lux photo contest in the student category, I finished 2nd in the “personal research” sub-category. The photos were published on my blog a little while ago, you can see them here. They were taken last fall for a class at Concordia and are most obviously inspired by the breakup, but they also represent, in a larger perspective, a study on the duality between man and woman through elements borrowed from mythology and symbolism.

Running my 4th half marathon

30th September 2012

Last Sunday I completed my 4th half marathon here in Montreal. I did my personal best, thanks to Hal Higdon’ intermediate training program (which was great, I very much recommend if you’ve been running for some time and feel you’ve reached a bit of a plateau). The weather was perfectly cool and crisp and the fact that Montreal Marathon has just joined the Rock and Roll series made it all the more freaking awesome. I just cannot wait for next year to take another 5 or 10 minutes off my PR.

Here’s a few photos!

21st May 2012

Well, that’s it, my second year of university is finished! Only 1 left before I’m a free girl! Yé!

In fact it’s been over for nearly a month now, but I haven’t really been able to take time for myself just yet it seems, with a few contracts here and there, contests to enter and bursary applications to complete. We did have a week long holiday in Miami though, and now that we are back, I have a full list of things I wish to accomplish in the course of the summer.

Foggy Montreal

1st April 2012

2 weeks ago we had crazy hot weather here in Montreal that was preceded by a day of very dense fog, which caused all sorts of traffic and flight problems. It was kind of eerie walking around town and I took advantage of the situation to bust out the old Mamiya 7. I’m kinda falling back in love with film photography.
