The Ultimate Weekend in Berlin Guide

21st June 2020

Berlin Hauptbahnhof

I’ll be honest, I have been putting off curating my weekend in Berlin guide for a while now because… well, I have been a little overwhelmed as there’s just SO much amazing stuff to experience in this city.

But the more I thought about it, the more I realised that whenever I have friends or family planning short breaks to Berlin I recommend different things depending on who they are and what they are interested in –– be that culture, clubbing, food, wellness or shopping.

In the Buff in Berlin at Liquidrom Berlin

I’m not sure why, but y’all here seem to really enjoy having me getting nude in the city and sharing about it. So, kind as I am, I decided to take yet another one for the team after Vabali and Kitkat Club, and bare it all again, this time at the much anticipated Liquidrom Spa Berlin. Liquidrom is a sauna in the heart of Berlin that I’d read and heard much about and I’m not sure why it took me so long to finally visit. But finally, I did! So was Liquidrom worth its hype? Were there people fornicating openly in the pool as several Tripadvisor reviews had purported? Had Vabali ruined every other spa in the city in advance? Let us first disrobe and dive right into it. *flails imaginary dong*

So, as you can imagine, finding an apartment in Berlin for rent isn’t the easiest of endeavours. Are you on the hunt for Berlin apartments for rent?

Vegan Quarantine Guide of Berlin

26th March 2020

Berlin friends, if we’re going to put on the quarantine fluff, might as well do it with delicious vegan food.

There’s nothing funny about what’s happening right now. I’m assuming it’s no news to you that the virus Corona was born from the animal trade. COVID-19 is life-threatening but is also changing lives. Poor conditions for animals have in recent years caused a rise in diseases spreading from animals to humans, otherwise known as zoonotic diseases. With its origins in a wet meat market in China, my only hope now is that it’ll prompt some people to go plant-based.

My Nude Spa Berlin Experience at Vabali Spa

29th February 2020

Vabali Spa Berlin, Germany

I fell in love with being in a German spa nude at vabali spa berlin. I know some of my German friends would roll their eyes at me for saying that Germans love themselves a bit of mixed gender nudity. Ahh yes, the nude sauna Germany topic, here we go. But upon visiting vabali, I think they totally do. If you’re not familiar with the Freikörperkultur, of FKK (free body culture), chances are you will after spending some time in Germany. At the very least, you will have heard of a nude spa Germany one way or another. And while some would simplify that the FKK movement was born as a form of resistance against the East German regime, nudism in Germany has its roots way further in history.

Where to stay in Berlin: the best hotels

It’s no secret that Berlin has been my main squeeze for a few years now. Aside from the relatively harsh Winters, I love everything about Berlin. But depending on who you ask, you may find it can be an intimidating place, especially if visiting alone and trying to figure out where to stay for a weekend in Berlin. I came to know Berlin as the city where people went to KitKat Club naked and that was way before the city turned me into a bit of a slightly crazy person – so I was kinda wondering WTF was gonna happen there.

In the Buff in Berlin at Kitkat Berlin

I remember being at my Couchsurfing host Laura in Milan in preparation for my arrival to Berlin, about four years ago. She happened to be living between the two cities and spending a lot of her weekends in Berlin and kept yapping on about how free-spirited Berlin was. Specifically, she mentioned several times how wonderful it was that people were just strutting totally nude in clubs like Berghain and Kitkat Berlin, getting it on in public as casually as you’d sip on a Coors Light back where I’m from.

The Healthy Food Berlin Guide

8th January 2020

The Heathy Green Guide of Berlin

“Look at all the healthy food Berlin has!” Said no one ever.

I realise that what I’ve been putting here about Berlin, and not only but also including the vegan scene, has been totally hedonistic. Vegan burgers, all the fast food, clubbing naked and plain just getting naked. I’ve done a pretty decent job in my now four years in Berlin, I’d say. But Berlin is not just that, I promise you.

Insta-walk: The best Berlin Photo Spots

8th November 2019

Berlin Photo Spots

I was a bit underwhelmed the first-ever time I set foot in Berlin. I thought the city lacked in “WOW” factor and was sprawling too much and missing some form of a focal point. Some may beg to differ, but this was my first impression. But here’s the thing. Correlating my relationship to Berlin to a romantic one (and I think it very much is), since I have been doing a ton of dating since I’ve been here and come to see differences between exploding flamboyant things that crash and burn in seconds and slow burners that surprise you over time and make you grow fonder. Berlin is a total slow burner. It may not impress you immediately, but give it time and patience, and it’ll start to grow on you until you just can’t get enough of it and start seeing beauty at every corner.
