My Fabulous Travel Health Hacks

Health and travel both play huge roles in my life. So one day I decided, why not combine the two?! And that’s how I came up with these awesome travel health hacks that I’m sharing with you now.

Go For a Walk Each Day

Something I’ve started to do is to go for a walk each day when I’m away. It’s become like a ritual for me now. I generally like to take a walk in the morning and, occasionally in the evening before dinner as well. This is a great way of keeping fit and getting the heart rate up. Plus it goes some way toward burning off a few of those extra holiday calories. This is so important because it helps you maintain a healthy body by keeping active during your vacation.

When you’re traveling, there are a lot of health tips you can make the most of. And one of the big ones is going swimming. If you’re staying in a hotel or villa, there is bound to be a pool. If you are backpacking or camping, you’ll no doubt find a lake or ocean nearby. This means that wherever you are, there will be an opportunity to swim. And, if you get the chance you should go for a proper swim. I can’t recommend this enough because swimming is so good for you. It helps work muscles you never knew you had, and it’s good for the heart and lungs. It’s a perfect way of keeping fit and having a fun time on your travels.


One of the things I like to make sure I prioritize is relaxation. The point of a vacation or travel experience is usually to relax and unwind. But this isn’t always the case. Sometimes we travel because we have to, other times we need to. We want new experiences and a better understanding of the word. But, it’s also important to make sure you relax, unwind and get rid of the stress in your life. As someone who takes yoga very seriously, I find it important to keep this up on my travels as well. Traveling can be intensive and draining on you mentally and physically. And yoga is the perfect remedy for this, as well as a fantastic way of enriching body and soul. Keep practising yoga on your travels and you will reap the benefits.

Pack Skincare Essentials

You might not think about it, but good skincare is important for health. I like to make sure my skin is smooth, supple and taken care of as much as possible. This can protect against infection, acne and other sorts of health issues. So, I like to pack skincare essentials with me whenever I go away. This is important, and it’s something I recommend you do as well. I always like to make sure I pack some makeup, moisturizers, and Vitamin A serum. Get a little skincare bag and put all your beauty bits in there so you know where they are. Maintaining great skin on your travels can be tricky, but it’s certainly very doable.

Take Vitamins

It’s important that you make sure you take vitamins on a daily basis as well. This shouldn’t change just because you’re on vacation. There are a lot of benefits to taking vitamins constantly. For one thing, they help keep your immune system fighting around the clock. I always try to pack vitamins with me, or, at the very least, buy some when I’m there. Get into a daily ritual of taking your vitamins every morning when you wake up. This helps you take those extra steps needed to protect your health as much as possible even though you aren’t at home.

Health Apps

Isn’t technology wonderful these days? It seems like I can do anything I want from my smartphone with just the push of a button. There is an app for pretty much anything these days, and you need to figure out the best ones for you. There’s an app called TravelSmart which I would highly recommend. You can use it to document all your personal details and medical information. That way you are taking steps to look after your health. You can’t mess around when it comes to your health, and when you’re away, you are more at risk. So, it’s important to make sure you use health apps as much as possible.

Just because you’re going on holiday doesn’t give you an excuse to get lazy with your health. I always make sure I remember this before I go away anywhere. And I like to try to make sure I stay fit and healthy even when I’m away. It’s a great routine to get into, and means you won’t feel guilty about some vacation indulgence!
