Having some extra time on your hands? Did you know online yoga teacher training courses were a thing? That’s right, Yoga Alliance recently approved fully remotely obtained YTTs as accepted for registration with them (which is a prerequisite to be able to teach). Since it’s a relatively new business, the prices are still super low when compared to other YTTs and an amazing opportunity for yogis on a budget. The catch is you have to finish it before June 30th, 2020! So get on it!
Yoga schools have been working relentlessly at finding solutions out there to bring you the best online yoga teacher training courses right in the comfort of your home. And there’s a great selection and quality already. These are all taught by experienced certified teachers from all over the world via video conference.
Keep in mind that those online yoga teacher training courses are taught in the timezones of the instructors, so make sure you pick an online yoga teacher training in a timezone close to yours unless you’re a night own!
The best Online Yoga Teacher Training right now
A retreat that I’ve already recommended multiple times is the wonderful Wonderland Healing Center, normally located on the island of Koh Phangan in Thailand. I mean, they are still located there, but they are also now offering their Yoga Teacher Training online, and for a fraction of the usual cost. Sure, you won’t get to enjoy the beach and the curry, but you’ll get 200 hours of online training over 28 days in the comfort of your home. This course is aimed at all level and focuses on the Hatha style.
Time Zone: Surat Thani, Thailand (GMT+7)
Styleoga also now offers a teacher training course that is held completely online and can be done at your own pace, in a minimum of 30 days and for a maximum of 10 months, resulting in an international certification recognised by the World Yoga Alliance as a 200-hour certified yoga teacher. Since the lessons are pre-recorded, this one works for any time-zone and starts one week after your subscription. The style is Hatha. Great for those who can’t commit to full days of training and wan to take it slow.

Another self-paced course for those wanting to do it their way. You can start right now and become a 300-hour Yoga Alliance certified instructor without having to go outside. Here, you have the choice to either participate as an active member via the Zoom live stream, or complete the YTT at your own pace with the pre-recorded video modules. The schedule is super flexible: you can finish the training in anywhere between 20 days or 2 months, it’s entirely up to you. ULU Yoga teaches Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin yoga styles, as well as filling you in on philosophy, meditation, anatomy, and pranayama and everything you need to become a well-rounded instructor. You’ll also find workshops on prenatal yoga, injuries and adjustments. The teachers at Ulu Yoga will provide feedback and one-on-one support to allow you to become a skilled and confident yoga instructor. On top of that, you can use your tuition as a credit to attend a future ULU Yoga course in Thailand or Bali!
