Louis Hotel
Perfectly located a short walk from the Viktualienmarkt (where you’ll also find traditional Christmas Markets) and many tourist attractions in the old town, Louis Hotel has some of the most spacious and tastefully-decorated rooms I’ve had the pleasure to stay in. Striking the right balance of hip and elegance, my room was so comfortable and so soothingly quiet for such a central location. The bathroom is heavenly, the staff is super attentive and helpful and the restaurant is stunning. I can’t speak highly enough of the Louis Hotel. One of my top picks in one of the best areas of the city for sure!

Schwan Locke
This is one of those places you’ll want to stay at for the experience as much as for the private rooms. The vibe is one of calm creativity – think stunning art, one-of-a-kind furniture, and mid-century industrialist design inspired by Munich’s Werkbund movement. The rooms are open and airy with an uncluttered feel and large windows letting in plenty of natural light. The perfect place to relax and recharge after a long day of exploring Munich. This is a great place for those who are looking for more affordable prices, yet still, a comfortable and stylish place to stay. There’s a fitness center too! Easy walking distance to and from Munich Central Station. A great option!

Located in an industrial building in one of Munich’s best neighborhoods as easy walking distance to the Deutsches Museum, the Glockenbach, The Flushing Meadows features individual loft studios, a few penthouse studios with private terraces, as well as the Flushing Meadows Bar which is a popular spot with the locals. A great hotel only for cool people, which I know you are!

CORTIINA Hotel
Louis’ hippest little sister, Cortiina, has super modern, colorful, and stylish rooms, a tub with an (optional) view (you naughty people) to a nice lounge area, and a friggin pillow menu! Fresh flowers all over, accents of classy oak wood amidst rich colorful textiles, Ren cosmetics, and a plush bed to pass out onto after you’ve had a few too many glasses at the most excellent Grape wine bar (that’s incidentally very vegan-friendly).

Cherry Kirsch

Another fab Plum Guide find, Cherry Kirsch is a studio apartment located just minutes away from Theresienwiese – where Oktoberfest takes place and has an easy access to need for a memorable stay in Bavaria’s capital. Equal parts sophisticated and stylish, the bright modern decor with splashes of color in its art prints, plump red sofa, and jazzy paintwork is just delightful. Very reasonable prices.
