I’m vegan burger-obsessed as much as I’m a health nut. If there’s a burger on the menu, it’ll trump any organic cardboardy bird food I’d usually go for. And to say Berlin has its vegan burger game down pat is quite the understatement. Every burger joints has a vegan option. Scratch that. Every restaurant has a burger option has a vegan burger option. Berlin has more burger spots than native Berliners and my ambition to document every single vegan burger option in the city was quickly shut down by the pace at which places open and close. So, as the Berlin vegan burger scene ebbs and flows like a goddamn annoying breathing thing, this guide is getting updated with my latest discoveries and classics not to be missed.
As you might have guessed from the number of blog posts that are already piled up here about Bali, I absolutely love it. A LOT. And for many reasons. The one I’ll be discussing today is Jamu, this traditional Indonesian medicinal drink that looks a bit like mango juice and that you might have seen popping up on several warung menus or in baskets on the head of the Jamu Gendong, these women roaming the streets selling their precious potions to the locals every morning.

Europe is a magnet for travellers from all over the world, and for vegans, it definitely deserves the title of meat-free mecca continent-wide. The same is also true for travellers and those on vacation who just want to eat healthier, and do their bit for the environment and animal compassion. We don’t all have to tuck into steaks all the time, and you too can embark on a travel odyssey as part of your exploration of the mighty continent of the most vegan-friendly cities in Europe. Being a vegan in Europe is definitely easy!
Since I have been blabbering about vegan Asam laksa non-stop for about a month straight, I thought it would be appropriate to provide you with a vegetarian Asam laksa recipe at long last. Asam laksa is a mix of Malay and Chinese cuisine, a noodle soup that is traditionally made with fish. It is widely available in Malaysia, Singapore and in some parts of Indonesia.
I happened upon all those vegan restaurants in Manchester a little randomly. Not even knowing how vegan Manchester was, I saw an amazing tattoo artist on Instagram, thought to myself I had never been to that part of the UK, and without further ado – because I do stuff like that – booked an appointment and a flight and off I went. Is Indian food vegan aside from vegan curry? I think a lot of people believe India is super vegan-friendly. The short answer is: not always. Have you heard of ghee? The ubiquitous clarified butter that makes an appearance in so much vegan Indian food? Yeah, not vegan. Indians are also quite fond of dairy (and don’t understand that it’s not vegan!), something I find mind-boggling given how much they love their cows. I haven’t been back to India since I was in Goa in 2015, and I’m excited to be going back for a quick break from the Winter in a few weeks. I’ll be looking for the best beaches of Goa, but meanwhile, I thought now would be a good time for asking my fellow travel bloggers what surprises hide for me in vegan India outside of vegan curry.
This week I noticed corn was finally in season. Hurray! I love me some corn on the cob! And next to that, I love me some vegan corn chowder!
I decided to bring back an old favourite of mine and one of my first ever blog posts back from 2010 (would you believe Mostly Amélie is nearly 10 years old?) This recipe conveniently makes around two tons of soup, perfect for the chilly autumn days ahead.
I felt I hit the vegan jackpot when I started researching and making a list of all the best vegan and best vegetarian restaurant Kuala Lumpur has. Unfortunately, I was only there for a week, so I curated a list of vegetarian food near me (and vegan food near me too, obviously) that I thought sounded the best among the lot to make things easier.
I took a cooking class at The Thai Farm Cooking School in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand. The main reasons why I picked this specific school over all the other ones is because they offered the opportunity to veganized everything on the menu and because their farm is fully organic. I had an amazing day, made all of the vegan Thai curry recipe, and met tons of other fun, food-loving travellers! I can’t recommend this day out enough if you happen to be in Chiang Mai.
Koh Phangan swallowed me whole yet again with its beautiful vistas, beaches, yoga, food and everything that comes with it. This was my fourth time on the island and it was as good as ever.
